Sweden says sex is good for public health and your wellbeing - Insider
The laws on prostitution in Sweden make it illegal to buy sex, but not to sell the use of one's own body for such services. Procuring and operating a brothel remain illegal. The criminalisation of the purchase of sex, but not the selling of one's own body for sex, was unique when first enacted in Sweden in Since then, this " Nordic model " for sex trade legislation has been adopted in several other nations. Lessons in Casual Sex: Narratives of Young Swedish Women
This study focuses on the narratives of four young Swedish women who were interviewed about their experiences of heterosexual casual sex. Although Reay bemoans the lack of a historical perspective on the phenomenon of casual sex, and reminds us that the practice of uncommitted sex is not an invention of modernity, theoretical Bauman ; Giddens ; Sigusch as well as empirical Kalish and Kimmel ; Paul and Hayes ; Timmerman and Courtois scholars tend to describe it as a fairly new and growing practice. The plethora of empirical studies in this area over the last decade also suggests that an increasing number of researchers find casual sex to be an important topic of investigation cf. Boislard et al. In this study, we want to contribute to the field by analyzing the narratives of four young Swedish women who were interviewed on the basis of their experiences of heterosexual casual sex.

The guidelines state that, as long as you and your long term sexual partners are being communicative about your symptoms and observing social distancing, sex is healthy for you — and, indeed, for everyone else. Sweden still advises against casual sex and dating strangers, which "pose a risk of getting infected or infecting others.
